It was my first morning in Rhodes, I awoke early (probably due to the time difference) and decided to go for a walk. I expected to find some activity and some coffee but instead was treated to a rare sight, the empty streets of Rhodes.
I left the Old Town and reached the waterfront. I walked along the sea edge and past the old windmills.
There I turned and looked across Mandraki Habour towards the old and new towns. The harbour was still with no movement.
I walked on the edge of the New Town, the streets were quiet we practically no cars on the road.
As I walked back into the old town, I passed some stalls that were yet to open. Then I encountered some early rising tourists as I passed through the Gate d'Amboise. I then walked besides the Palace of the Grand Master of the Knights on my way back into the heart of the Old Town.
I returned back to Sokratous street to find no shops or cafes open.
I reached the fountain in Platia Ippokratous only to find a couple of tourist on their way home.
After enjoying the peace and quiet of the streets and realising no coffee shops will be open for a while I decide to make my way back home.
